The Division of Neuromuscular Medicine in the Department of Neurology holds clinics specific to many areas of neuromuscular disease. Our dedicated physicians and staff work closely with patients exploring various methods of care and treatment specific to their unique conditions. Using state of the art facilities, equipment and techniques, our dedicated physicians and staff work closely with patients of all ages and their families, exploring various methods of care and treatment specific to their unique conditions.
The Ohio State University offers several clinics dedicated to specific diseases. The benefit of having these clinics is the application of a comprehensive team approach to the individual’s care. The specialties present for each clinic are determined by the specific needs of the disease. At the MDA sponsored clinic on Mondays the following specialists are present: neurologist, physical therapist, respiratory therapist, durable medical equipment provider, orthotist, genetics counselor and the MDA Health Care Services Coordinator.
The current clinic offerings are as follows:
Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic- Directed by John Kissel, M.D., Every Monday afternoon at the OSU Neurology Clinic, Cramblett Hall
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis- MDA/ALS Clinic- Directed by John Kissel, M.D., Every Tuesday morning at the OSU Neurology Clinic, Cramblett Hall
Myasthenia Gravis Clinic- The last Monday morning of the month at the OSU Neurology Clinic, Cramblett Hall
Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic- Directed by Victoria Lawson, M.D., Every Wednesday at the OSU Neurology Clinic, Cramblett Hall
Spinal Muscular Atrophy Clinic- This is held once a month at Nationwide Children’s Hospital
EMG lab: Directed by Bakri Elsheikh, M.D.
